Alicia Tu is a second-year PhD student in the Classics and Religious Studies Department and the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa. She graduated from Brandeis University with a BS in Computer Science, a BA in Linguistics, and a BA in Classical Studies, and from Tufts University with an MA in Digital Tools for Premodern Studies. 

Her academic interest lies in studying ancient languages, mainly Latin, ancient Greek, and Classical Chinese, with digital tools and methods, and exploring the application of modern technology in the context of the Classical world. She presented her project “Methodology in Ancient Language Research with Large Language Models” at Boston Digital Humanities Symposium 2024, “Digital Tools for Ancient Language Research” at Boston Digital Humanities Symposium 2025, and “Benchmark for Evaluation of Ancient Greek Translation Generated by AI” at iGAIAS 2026. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and quiz games.
