Echo Smith holds BAs in Classics and English from the University of Utah as well as an MA in Classics from the University of Iowa. She is currently working on her dissertation, titled “Ancient Dream Interpretation: From Text to Social Context.”

Her research interests include: dream interpretation, divination, class and socio-economic status, gender and sexuality, and the literary translation of ancient texts. Her languages of interest include: Latin, Greek, Coptic, and Syriac.
